AARC (Azerbaijan Animal Rescue and Veterinary Care Center) is the first animal protection center and services established in 2009 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The founder Ms. Hedieh Roshanzamir who lived in Baku for more than 20 years, felt the need for an animal protection organization (none exists to date besides AARC), starting with rescuing a few kittens and puppies from the streets to shelter, treat, spay/neuter and rehome. The numbers that needed help were overwhelming and becoming very hard to manage. Mr. M. Ahadpour Khanghah (personally) welcomed this project took us under his wings, donated a land and the funds to build a modern shelter and a state of the art veterinary clinic with the latest medical equipment available worldwide. AARC then employed a specialized team of veterinary doctors and surgeons to ensure health of the shelter animals, carry out spay/neuter programs, and also giving services to clients.
Currently, we have about 200 animals that live happily in AARC shelter waiting to be rehomed, which unfortunately proves to happen at a very slow pace in Azerbaijan. As we are a no-kill shelter, no healthy dog or cat is never put to sleep at AARC.
We cannot express enough gratitude to Mr. Ahadpour Khanghah who enabled us to save so many lives and give a chance to more animals to live in a safe and comfortable environment. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts on behalf of all rescued and treated animals.
